BURLEY ACADEMY & COACHING SESSIONS

The Burley Golf Club is one of the most social clubs in Hampshire and a great place to make friends.

Burley GC Academy was started in 2017 by former professional golfer Gerry Teschner and member Joy Ménage to encourage more ladies to the game. Gerry did the coaching and Joy helped with the organising and took players onto the course when they were ready. This was so successful that in subsequent years we have expanded the opportunity to men as well as women and have provided more coaching sessions at beginner level. The Academy continues to grow and we look forward to welcoming complete beginners, improvers and returners each season.

PGA QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL: GERRY TESCHNER

After playing on the European Tour for 5 years Gerry has been Head Professional and Manager of several Golf Clubs. A PGA Qualified Professional for many years, she has always run her own businesses specialising in coaching golf, retailing and the custom fitting of golf clubs. More recently she has concentrated fully on her main passion in golf which has always been coaching and inspiring others to take up the great game. Gerry has taught players of all ages and all abilities including those at Professional level.

Gerry has been affiliated to the Burley GC since 2016 and was very keen to start the Academy for those totally new to golf as well as improvers.

BEGINNERS/IMPROVERS ACADEMY

Academy Membership is £450.00 per year

(includes insurance & three individual lessons with Gerry Teschner - worth £135)

Academy Membership Benefits - So what’s included?

* Three 50 minute golf lessons with Gerry to be arranged at your convenience. Worth £135.00.

* After this you would be expected to fund your own lessons.

* Unlimited use of the practice facilities at Burley Golf Club.

* Time on the course, with a member or on your own after approval by Professional Gerry.

* You can play on the course after 11am Fridays and any day after 3pm (summer) and 1pm (winter).

* Get an Official Handicap on the World Handicap System.

* Access to The Burley Golf Club Members website.

* Social Membership plus bar card with 10% discount.

* Regular, organised Academy get together/rollups on the course with Joy Ménage.

COACHING SESSIONS WITH GERRY

Before joining the Academy, it is recommended that all players have some coaching from Gerry Teschner.

Burley Golf Club’s Resident Professional. Gerry is also available for private coaching sessions, as follows:

Group Sessions minimum of 2 - £50 per hour.

Individual Lessons £45 for 50 minutes or £30 for 25 minutes.
